Deep dish pizza with ground pork and spicy Italian-style sausage


Homemade crust

2 browned, sliced Italian-style sausage

1 lb crumbled, browned plain ground pork

1 1/2 cans diced tomatoes, drained (wish it was summertime for fresh tomatoes!)

1/2 onion, chopped

2 green bell peppers, chopped

Parmesan Cheese

Mozzarella Cheese

What I did:

I cooked the ground pork with the sausage to get more Italian flavor. The ground pork cooks much faster. I removed it all and returned the sausages to the pan to finish cooking.

I pre-cooked the crust in two 9×13 inch dishes.

I mixed the toppings together, spread them on the crust, and added more mozzarella on top. Baked at 425 until the cheese was well melted. I added pepperoni with the mozzarella on top of one.
